Braised Belgian endive and ham au gratin

Hi,

This is a beloved classic of Belgian cooking, braised Belgian endive and ham au gratin. A typical fall dish, but since it looks like the summer has gone nowadays, I decided to make it. But I must admit.... I can eat this throughout the year !! Ingredients (4p)
  • nutmeg to taste
  • 4 heads of Belgian endive
  • 8 slices of cooked ham
  • 500 ml of milk
  • 30 g of butter
  • 40 g of flour
  • 250 g of grated cheese
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
