The best spaghetti and meatballs in delicious homemade tomato sauce

Oh, your family or guests will be so happy if you put this delicious classic on the table: spaghetti with meatballs in tomato sauce. Ingredients
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, pressed
  • 1 handful of fresh basil
  • 3-4 tomatoes, chopped
  • 500g minced meat
  • paprika powder
  • tabasco
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • some dried oregano
  • pepper to taste
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 175g spaghetti

Full recipe

Chop 1 red onion
Press 2 cloves of garlic
Chop a handfull of fresh basil
Combine 500g minced meat with 1/2 of the onion, 1/2 of the garlic, salt to taste, pepper to taste and some paprika powder
Make +/- 13 meatballs
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil on medium high heat
Brown the meatballs a couple of minutes
Remove from the pan
Add 1 tbsp olive oil in the pan
Add rest of the onion and garlic and fry a couple of minutes
Add 3-4 chopped tomatoes
Stir in half of the basil
Add 1 tbsp of tomato puree
Add 1 tsp of sugar
Add some dried oregano
Add some tabasco
Let it simmer for 10 minutes on low heat
Add the rest of the basil
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Transfer into a blender and blend
Transfer sauce back into the pan
Add the meatballs
Let simmer for 5 minutes, lid on
Cook 175g spaghetti al dente
Serve !
