Dunne lende met portosaus en rösti's - Thin loin with port sauce and röstis

Dinsdagavond zijn we een avondje gaan ontspannen in het Casino van Blankenberge. We begonnen onze avond met het Gambler's Menu. Je hebt altijd keuze tussen vlees en vis. Wij kozen voor het vlees. Het was dunne lende met een portosausje opgefleurd met gebakken spekjes en fijngesneden basilicum en lekkere krokante rösti's.
De dunne lende bevindt zich in het achterkwartier (rug) naast de filet pur. Het is een mager en mals stuk vlees. De dunne lende kan zonder been (wordt dan entrecote genoemd) of met been verkocht worden. Dan spreekt men over een côte à l'os of een T-bone steak.
Als je het Gambler's Menu kiest, krijg je ook altijd eerst een hapje vooraf. Deze keer was het een stukje gerookte forel met tomatenblokjes en appeltjes (helaas ben ik vergeten er een foto van te nemen). Het eten in het Casino is altijd echt heel lekker en helemaal niet duur. Wij betaalden slechts 40 euro met 2 cola's erbij en daarbovenop krijg je ook nog eens elk een ticket van 5 EUR om op de slots te spelen. Je kunt er uiteraard ook à la carte eten.
Helaas, niets gewonnen die avond maar wel lekker gegeten en ons heel goed geamuseerd!

On Tuesday we chose for a relaxing evening in the Casino of Blankenberge. We started our evening with the Gambler's Menu. You always have a choice between meat and fish. We chose the meat. It was thin loin with a port sauce with bacon and chopped basil and tasty crispy rösti's.
The thin loin is in the backquarters (back) next to the filet pur. It is a tender piece of meat. The thin loin can be without bone (so called entrecote) or with bone. Then you talk about a cote à l'os or a T-bone steak.
If you choose the Gambler's Menu, you will also get an appetizer first. This time it was a piece of smoked trout with tomato cubes and apple cubes (unfortunately I forgot to take a picture). The food at the Casino is always really delicious and not at all expensive. We paid only 40 euros with 2 cokes and on top of that you also get a 5 euro ticket each to play at the slots. Of course you can also eat à la carte.
Unfortunately, no winner in the house that evening but we enjoyed our food and really had a lot of fun!
